Everyone has kids who will participate in vision screenings at school, daycare, or with the pediatrician during a routine checkup. The problem is that these screenings are just that – screenings. They are designed to shed light on major problems or obvious differences between the eyes. They are NOT to be considered an eye exam. We recommend that children have their first complete eye exam before the end of kindergarten, even if there are no obvious issues with their vision.
