If you have burning, itching, gritty, watery eyes, or even blurred vision, you may have a dry eye condition. Dry eyes can be temporary or chronic and may occur due to medicines, pollutants, aging changes, and a host of other factors. There are several methods of helping our dry eye patients ranging from over-the-counter artificial tears to tear duct plugs to prescription medications (e.g. Restasis, Xiidra, and oral doxycycline). Advanced techniques include using an instrument to “deep-clean” the eyelids called BlephEx and even using amniotic membranes to help the eye recover from serious dry eye damage. If you think that you may be suffering from a dry eye or are not sure of what the discomfort might be then call our office for an appointment.
