Meet the Doctors

Dr. Phillip E. Apfel
Dr. Apfel is the director of Oakley Square Eye Associates. He received his doctorate from The Ohio State University College of Optometry in 1983. He is currently a member of the American Optometric Association, the Ohio Optometric Association and the Cincinnati Optometric Association. Dr. Apfel is also a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. He specializes in contact lenses; including unusual and difficult fits as well as the medical management of glaucoma and general medical Optometry. He is a co-managing doctor for laser, refractive, and cataract surgery at the Cincinnati Eye Institute and the Midwest Eye Center. He has published several articles regarding video integration in eye care. Dr. Apfel has been on the medical consulting staff of the National Football League Cincinnati Bengals since 1992.

Dr. Samantha Hornberger
We are pleased to announce that Dr. Samantha Hornberger has joined our practice. She brings a multitude of knowledge and training that will be a benefit to all of her patients. Dr.Hornberger completed her undergraduate studies and her Bachelors degree at Indiana University then receiving her doctorate from Indiana University School of Optometry. She was one of a select few at that university to complete a residency in Corneal Disease and Contact Lenses. She is a member of the American and Ohio Optometric Association. Doctor Hornberger Specializes in General Medical Optometry, with an emphasis on Acute and Chronic Eye Disease Management, as well as Specialty Contact Lenses. With Doctor Hornberger on staff we are extremely pleased to not only offer her services but have expanded office hours including evenings and Saturdays.
